City Swimming Pool

Historic Hamilton Swimming Pool

The City of Hamilton Swimming Pool is currently closed to public swimming. There are no regular public swim hours or rentals at this time. The last day of the 2024 summer swim season was August 11, 2024.

A New Deal Project with Local Roots

Built in the 1930s as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project, the Hamilton swimming pool and pool house are a tangible reminder of the New Deal era. For decades, this spot along Pecan Creek has given local families a place to gather, cool off, and make summer memories close to home.

The pool itself is more than 3,700 square feet, with the historic stone pool house providing a distinctive backdrop that many longtime residents remember from childhood swim lessons, pool parties, and hot summer afternoons.

A Stop for Locals and Visitors

Even when the water is calm, the Hamilton Swimming Pool remains part of the story of our community. Visitors exploring Hamilton attractions and nearby Pecan Creek Park can view the exterior of the historic pool house and imagine how this corner of town looked when it was filled with splashing kids and families enjoying summer days.

If you stop by, please enjoy the view from outside the fenced area and respect all posted signs and closures. Pecan Creek Park offers additional space for walking, relaxing, and taking in the scenery near downtown Hamilton.

Looking Ahead

The City of Hamilton recognizes the historic and community value of the swimming pool and pool house. Future decisions about the facility, including any potential repairs, improvements, or reopening plans, will be shared on this page and through City communication channels as information becomes available.
