Garbage Pick-Up
Household garbage is collected at the curb and limited to City trash carts. (Additional carts will need to be requested at city hall). Barrels or other trash bins will not be serviced.
Helpful Hints/Reminders
- All trash must be in bags, no loose items.
- All trash bags must be inside the container.
- Drivers will not pick up construction debris (for safety reasons) including but not limited to sheetrock, tile, lumber, carpet and shingles. These are to be hauled by the contractor.
Regular Pickup Days
For Residents inside the City limits your service days are:
- Monday through Wednesday depending on your location
Please have your waste out by 7 a.m. on your service day.
Waste Connections Holidays
Pick up will be the next business day following the holiday.
- New Year's Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day

The rates and process for the disposal of community residential bulk waste shall be as follows:
- The City is making available, to all City residential users, Bulk Waste Debris vehicle window stickers, allowing access and usage of the Bulk Waste Facility at 1099 East State Highway 22, Hamilton
- Bulk Waste Debris stickers can be purchased at Hamilton City Hall only during regular business hours.
- You must show proof of a City of Hamilton residential water utility account with a corresponding photo ID to purchase a Bulk Waste Debris sticker
- Each Bulk Waste Debris vehicle window sticker shall cost $30.00 per calendar year. An additional Bulk Waste Debris Sticker may be purchased for an alternate vehicle at the same price
- If you are disposing of bulky items, you will have to pay per load at the Bulk Waste Facility (cash or check only)
- Bulk debris disposal must be used in accordance with a schedule of items announced by the City Council (given below)
- What are the acceptable Bulk Waste Items?

- Furniture and bulky household items such as mattresses, hot water heaters & appliances
- Tree limbs must be cut into manageable sizes for 1 person to handle (no longer than 6’)
- Carpet must be cut in strips no more than 4 feet, tightly rolled and tied
- Remodel material such as drywall and lumber: less than 4 feet in length, but no more than approximately 50 lbs of material
- What are the Items that will not be accepted?
