THE UNOFFICIAL RESULTS OF THE MAY 2, 2026 MUNICIPAL ELECTION:
The City of Hamilton has three Council Member positions (one unexpired term and two two-year terms) and one Mayor position (two-year term) that will be voted on in the upcoming election.
Voting Location and Hours:
City Hall, 200 E Main St. Hamilton, TX 76531
Election Day: May 2, 2026 from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
Early Voting: April 20, 2026 to April 28, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mon-Fri and there will be no early voting on April 21 in observance of San Jacinto Day.

Filing period for the May 2026 General Election: January 14, 2026 to February 13, 2026 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mon - Thurs and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Fri - Notice of Deadline to File an Application for Place on the Ballot

Qualifications for Mayor and Council Members:
Each of the council members and the mayor shall be a citizen of the United States of America, have been a resident of the State of Texas for a period of at least one (1) year, have been a resident of the city of Hamilton for a period of at least six (6) months, and be a qualified voter of the State of Texas.
Registering to Vote:
In order to register to vote or to change your address, contact Terry Short, Hamilton County Tax Assessor-Collector, at 254-386-1200. April 2, 2026 is the last day for submitting a voter registration application in time to vote at the May Municipal Election.
